Rant #2 on Sailor Moon’s Anime Return

For the past few months, I’ve been keeping track on Funimation and their status on getting the Sailor Moon anime back to America. However, repeated replies from Adam Sheehan lead me to believe that they are having difficulties with Toei.

This seems far-fetched, but how else can you explain the situation, even though we’re seeing the merchandise appear on Hot Topic and various anime stores like Right Stuf? Heck, the manga made it’s grand return back in September, with volume 2 of both Sailor Moon & Sailor V coming out within a week! Is it a marketing ploy, to “test the waters” before making a decision to go forward on bringing the anime? Somehow, it looks that way.

When Toei made the decision to re-issue the license back to the world, after a 7-year “lockdown”, they started with Italy, back in 2010…with huge success! Then, hey start licensing the series to other counties, like Hong Kong, the Middle East…heck, one country in Africa is getting Sailor Moon for the first time! What’s left out is USA…and how close are we from getting it? As close as Mexico.

So, how much longer until we get it? Well…until Toei realizes that DiC has extinct, and there’s no other company that dubbed it, when it came here first-time around. Toei needs to realize that not all counties will get their original dubs back, and that there will be countries that will need a new, better, uncut dub…we just happened to be one of those.

But, what if FUNimation was holding back on us, until the appropriate time? It was done with one of the Evengelion movies, until Otakon 2010, when they actually got it! So, the timeline with Funimation is sketchy, at best. At this time, they got nearly a hundred anime series licensed, so it may take some time before they get most of every series’ episodes done, before they can acquire more, to keep their business going.

Most importantly, don’t hold your breath…do something else in your life, and eventually Funimation–or any other company–will pick it up, and we won’t even know it.

It’s not the end of the world if Sailor Moon will never come back…it’s a business thing that needs to be accomplished, before going forward on it.

That’s my rant…and I’m sticking to it!

VWF EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Tifa Lockhart

After the incident, on episode three of VWF Monday Nitro, Todd Grisham caught up with Tifa Lockhart and was asked her a few questions on what happened out there, and why.

TODD: Tifa, thanks for your time to come out and answer a few questions.

TIFA: Ask away. You know I don’t have all week.

TODD: Very well. I know the first question is going back to the finish of the main event on episode 3 of Nitro. What was going though your head at that time?

TIFA: Me and Aerith have been best friends for a long time, even though we don’t see eye-to-eye in the ring too often. I has my gameplan for tonight, and that gameplan was to help Aerith end her longtime feud with Lindsay.

TODD: Even if it means backstabbing your TXA teammate, Ami, just to do it?

TIFA: *sighs* Even that, I must do it to help her.

TODD: What do you think is going though Ami’s mind, right now?

TIFA: I hope she’s thinking that what I did is the right way. Furthermore, I–

(Ami storms in)

AMI: What the f**k was wrong with you, Tifa?!

TIFA: Me? What I did was right for Aerith!

AMI: For her?! What about me?! Why did you screw me in our tag team match?!

TODD: Ladies! Ladies, please. Since you joined us, Ami, what is your thoughts on that main event finish?

AMI: I dunno what’s going though your mind, but I thought we agreed to prevent Lindsay from competing against Aerith.

TIFA: It was a last-second decision, on my part. We have to look to what’ll happen if we won, in the long run…I mean, Lindsay & Abdala will continue non-stop, until they get their way.

AMI: Really? Did you ever think, for one second, that what we planned to do was to protect Aerith…in the long run?

TIFA: I did, but being her guards is not what we want to do.

TODD: On that topic, can you three get along, at this point? I mean, now that Lindsay has her title shot against Aerith at Retribution.

AMI: Right now, we need to think this over. Recover from our loss and make sure that Aerith gets the best protection.

TIFA: Aerith does not need protection, when she must finish her fights alone.

AMI: Alone? When the numbers are against you, you must even the playing field. That’s what we’re doing…right?

TIFA: I told you, she can finish her fights. It has nothing to do with us.

AMI: If it has nothing to do with us, then why does she need us? Now, if you excuse me, I’ll leave you two to finish this interview.

TODD: Thank you, Ami.

(Ami leaves)

TODD: You two have been long-time friends?

TIFA: We were. We always love to goof around, breaking the forth wall, and make a name for ourselves. But, those are the good old days of NGW. Now…now it’s just…

TODD: I understand. Thanks for talking with us, Tifa.

TIFA: No prob. I’m sure we’ll pull through, in the end.

The only reason I will give to you, or anyone else, is that I’m the VWF Owner, and I have a new role. I cannot be at two places, at the same time…it doesn’t work, that way. If you seen me in my office during the Nitro series premiere episode, that indicates that I’m not doing commentary, anymore. Plain and simple.

What We Did Wrong, And What We Can Do

People wanted everything fixed, right away. People hated Obama, for this so-called “blank check”. People hated the Republicans, for playing the “waiting game”. People this. People that.

ENOUGH!

 You all need to reawaken yourself and realize the truth of everything. Look at what we accomplished by voting Republicans into Senate and House to try and fix what they messed up on…only to make matters worse. Why are you blaming Barack Obama? He’s trying so hard to make this country work, and you people keep putting him down for him writing ”blank checks”? He was trying to find ways to help you people survive in this world. Yeah, we are on the economic struggle, but most of that was because other countries are suffering, and we can’t meet with our demands. Don’t blame him for what Mother Nature did, as well. After all, we had more problems in 2011, than any year…it’s because we had our “peace and quiet” years. Now, Nature wants to test us, again, and we are failing. You want someone to blame, look in the mirror and tell me who.

Everything started on 9/11/01, when the twin towers were struck and fell. It was the sign that our time of peace was over. The time to act upon ourselves started then, and the years that followed were either by mother nature, or an act of man. We are tested by our own will, and what we should do in certain situations. And so far, we have failed to fix any of them. Our former President, George W. Bush, began the war in Afghanistan, and paid them a lot of money…he, too, was making “blank checks” before Obama entered office, but who voted him? We did, cause we knew that he was smarter than McCain, makes less lies than McCain, and was someone with a motive…to help with our troubled times. So, why are we against him? He’s making “blank checks”, to help us?

And why did we vote the Republicans? Because of Obama and the Democrat-dominated Senate and House, that we needed a balanced system? I’m sure Obama loved it when we voted them in, but what happened, afterward? Dems and Reps fight over the budget, causing Wall Street to drop, and the world to suffer. Who voted the Reps in? We did. And it was our mistake, for doing so.

So, when you vote in 2012, I won’t stop you from voting someone else into office, because you wanted the economy to be fixed, ASAP. It doesn’t work that fast, and I know that. It takes times to recover, and we are recovering on our own. We may lose our homes, but we can recover. We may lose money, but we can recover. We can…and we will recover. We need to take part in the recovery, and not just let Washington do the job for us. We must act, as One Nation, to help those in need, to feed the hungry, to donate to the poor, to do anything we can to recover. Don’t blame the President, or anyone in Washington, for trying to help us, when we can on our own.

When you vote, know deep in your heart, who you want in office.  But know this:

“We made mistakes. we made sacrifices. What we made, can recover from. Don’t rush things to be fixed; they take time, so give it, and we’ll pull through.”

WWE ’12 First Impressions For Online Servers

Today, Cory Ledesma, Creative Director at THQ,  announced via twitter (@RealCoryLedesma), that WWE ’12 will no longer be using Third Party Servers. The developer, THQ will be handling the online servers for the upcoming wrestling game, this November. Gamespy has handled the WWE online gaming since 2004, with mediocre to poor handling, leading to lags and disconnections at near 80%, which lead to the decision. Cory added, in an additonal tweet, that with THQ’s own servers, it “doesn’t mean lag goes completely away. It means performance and reliability have been greatly improved.” After I played, Homefront, that uses THQ’s servers, this is a huge step to improving the online portion.

On top of that, THQ will implement a service, known as Abusive Reporting. While Cory pointed out that a Code of Conduct and Reporting/Banning Guidelines will be posted on the THQ website shortly before the game’s release, people speculate the abusive use of the Abusive Reporting system.  It’s worth noting what this Abusive Reporting system actually does:

1. f a person is playing cheap, abuses a move, hacks, or any other reason, than the victim(s) can report it, when prompted at the individual who has done it, and put down what the person has done as the reason.
2. With THQ’s servers, they conduct an investigation on it.
3. If the person continues to do so, and gets reported again for the same reason, then it becomes “suspicious activity”, and is given another, or possibly a Final Warning.
4. If he/she gets reported one more time, then they can lay the banhammer on the individual, either by nametag or I.P.
5. If he/she is reported for one reason and gets reported for another, they will drop one investigation and start the other; or is reported improperly, with no reason…then THQ will drop the investigation, after a certain period of time.

This is what I think the system should work, but THQ will lay down the rule, before WWE ’12 is released. This can be abused, to many, but when the rules are posted, we hope to see some people think twice before they use this to their advantage, leading to banning a good player for no reason.

To The “Barbie Doll” of the WWE: STFU!

Last night, at Night of Champions, we thought Beth Phoenix would end the “Barbie Reign” of the Divas Champion, Kelly Kelly. The Glamazon-dominated match lasted longer than three minutes–and this only applies to PPVs–ended with no finisher, just a roll-up for the pin, and Barbie Doll, Kelly Kelly, retains and runs out of the ring LIKE A HEEL!! Yes, the old “hometown screwjob” is getting fancy in the WWE, lately–not counting CM Punk, winning the WWE Title at MITB PPV.

It seems that Kelly Kelly has a strong resemblance to the doll, alot…or the fact that that her name was Barbie Blank, before signing with the WWE. Anyways, what I’m getting to is that not only Kelly Kelly is retarded in the ring, she’s retarded in her tweets. Just take a look at some of those she said, dated Sept 18:

“A champion is not a person that is always winning and owns all. A champion is a person that never gives up.”♥”

Yep, when you act like a heel, it contradicts that statement, perfectly!

“Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: A desire, a dream, a vision.”

You know what else Champions are made of…sucking some guys–you know, that’s not PG!

“Champs are like a dream. They strive until they get on top and keep forth the game. They never give up and never step down.”

When the writers pushes you to that point, then the statement is true. Why do you think Gail Kim quit?

This is exactly what I’m saying. When you make speeches like that, at least back it up. And we didn’t see any of it, here. Therefore, if I were a WWE writer, I would book one more match with Beth Phoenix against K2, and have Beth win it. Make us happy, and get the Divas title off the bitch…she’s becoming the Cena of the Divas division.
